Meaning: (Lovely One, Mythology: a nymph in love with Helios, god of the sun. Clytie was changed into a sunflower, which always turns its face toward the sun. The Splendid One, Famous, In Greek mythology, Clytie was a nymph who loved the sun god Helios. She would watch him cross the sky day by day, and was finally turned into a heliotrope flower (some say a sunflower), which always turns its face toward the sun. The Bright, Magnificent One)
Origin: (Greek)
Pronunciation: (KLY-tee, KLI tee eh)
Gender: Female
I love the meaning and the Mythological story about the one named Clytie. I saw this name on Behind the Name site I think. I love the look of the name. It would again work in a mythological novel or fantasy maybe not in modern day.
Character Naming
As an Author naming your Character is an important step right after coming up with the plot. I am here to help you choose the right character name for you and your story.
Make sure your character name is Genre Appropriate. Make sure if it's a Historical Fiction novel or takes place in a real time period that the name was used then. Or if it's a fictionalized place then you can be as creative as you wish.
Just have fun with naming your character. It is after all your story.

It is best though to do research into the names you decide to use for your characters as there can be errors on my blog. Or meanings, origins, and pronunciations I have not seen thus not been able to add to this blog.
