Character Naming

As an Author naming your Character is an important step right after coming up with the plot. I am here to help you choose the right character name for you and your story.

Make sure your character name is Genre Appropriate. Make sure if it's a Historical Fiction novel or takes place in a real time period that the name was used then. Or if it's a fictionalized place then you can be as creative as you wish.

Just have fun with naming your character. It is after all your story.

Meaning: (Powerful and Complete, Most famously known as the name of a goddess in Greek Mythology. She is the Goddess of Wisdom, a virgin goddess who was the daughter of Metis and Zeus. Her birth was quite extraordinary, as she is said to have sprung fully armed for war from Zeus's head after he swallowed pregnant Metis.)

Origin: (Greek, Greek Mythology)

Pronunciation: (A-TEE-na, ah-te-na)

Gender: Female

This is one of The Little Mermaids sister’s names. I was seeing The Little Mermaid DVD special edition advertised and I went into looking into her sister’s names. Attina is a unique name with beautiful strong meanings. It is also a Greek Mythology name with quite an interesting history. The long history might do well and be just the right fit for an author’s character.
