Though Winnie is a nickname for Winifred it can be used as it's own stand alone name. I have used Winifred nickname Winnie as a characterer name in one of my novels. I love the name Winnie as I love Winnie-the-Pooh. Winnie has beautiful meanings and it has a cute sound and look to it.
