Chapin

Meaning: (Scholar, Clergyman, from a reduced form of French eschapin or Spanish chapín, a term for a light (woman’s) shoe; perhaps a nickname for someone who habitually wore this type of footwear or possibly a metonymic occupational name for a shoemaker.)

Origin: (French, Spanish, English)

Pronunciation: (chay-pin, CHAY-pun, SHahPAEN)

Gender: Uni-Sex

I was watching a Lifetime Movie about these teen girls who play Triple Dog Dare and the dares escalate. Anyway the girl who started the dare thing was named Chapin and I came to love that name a lot. It is interesting, unique and has a great look and meaning. It's a name you don't hear or see often. I think seeing this name in a contemporary modern movie that this name could fit many different genres and characters.
