Satie

Meaning: (Faithful, Form of Sati (True, Existent, Good, Faithful, Awareness of one’s thoughts, actions or motivations.)

Origin: (Sanskrit)

Pronunciation: (SAETiy, sah-TEE)

Gender: Uni-Sex

I have liked this name for a while. It is originally a surname but when I saw it I thought how cool would that name be as a first name. It has a different look which I like. I also love the pronunciation. I first heard the name when watching an episode of Star Trek. Here is the quote from Captain Jean-Luc Picard.... "You know, there are some words I've known since I was a schoolboy: ' With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably.' Those words were uttered by Judge Aaron Satie as wisdom and warning. The first time any man's freedom is trodden on we're all damaged. I fear that today..." That quote stayed with me as it was so similar to a novel I am planning on writing which deals with people being censored and denied certain human rights and freedoms.
