Shepherd

Meaning: (Shepherd, Herdsmen, One who Guards Sheep's, Mostly 19th-century use. "Pooh" illustrator Ernest Shepard. Shepherd has 6 variant forms: Shep, Shepard, Shephard, Shepp, Sheppard and Shepperd.)

Origin: (Old English, Hebrew, Biblical)

Pronunciation: (SHEP-urd)

Gender: Male

Not a very common first name but I think it would be cool to see a character in a novel named Shepherd and maybe nicknamed Shep. I like what a Shepherd stands for and what they did in biblical times.
