Felicity

Meaning: (Happy, From the English word felicity meaning "happiness", which ultimately derives from Latin felicitas "good luck". This was one of the virtue names adopted by the Puritans around the 17th century. It can sometimes be used as an English form of the Latin name FELICITAS. This name was revived in the late 1990s after the appearance of the television series 'Felicity'.)

Origin: (Latin)

Pronunciation: (fa-LISS-a- tee, fi-LIS-i-tee, Go to this site and run your cursor over the word Felicity to hear how it is said: http://www.howjsay.com/index.php?word=felicity&submit=Submit)

Gender: Female

I actually didn't care much for this name but it is growing on me a bit. When I was little there were these American Girls Dolls and one of them was called Felicity and most remember the T.V series Felicity starring Keri Russel. I think it would fit nice in a Historical Fiction novel as its a virtue name and used by the puritans. It would also fit in modern times. It's a nice name but I am still not sure if I really like it all that much.
