Esmeralda

Meaning: (Emerald, Variant of Emerald, the prized green gemstone. This jewel name was first used in the 1880s. This name was used by Victor Hugo in his novel 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame' (1831), in which Esmeralda is the Gypsy girl who is loved by Quasimodo. I have loved this name since I read the book and saw the movie The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I think it is a beautiful name. I have chose this name as a secondary characters name in one of my novels. I just love this name.
