I think the little girl Jane Eyre came to be Governess to in Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre was named Adele. I like the name it is strong and feminine and beautiful. One site said that Adele often seems to be the name of a minor character in movies and books. I haven't read about too many Adele's so I am unsure if this is true or not. In French spelt with a grave accent: 'Adèle'.
